About Qatar
Qatar is located in Western Asia, occupying the small Qatar Peninsula on the northeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Doha is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf in the east of Qatar. It is a city oozing confidence and style, and it is as much ease with its modern shopping malls as it is with its heritage and traditional souqs.
Climate
It has a dry, subtropical desert climate with low annual rainfall and hot and humid summers. In October, the weather experiences increasing cloud cover, having the temperature being 35° the highest and 25° the lowest.
Economy
The city is well known for its warm hospitality and pearl diving prior to the discovery of Natural Gas, which has completely transformed the country into one of the wealthiest country in the world. It is set to hold the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup in 2022, which will be the first World Cup in the Arab World.
Currency
The Qatari Riyal (﷼) is the official currency of Qatar. Frequently Used banknotes are: ﷼1, ﷼5, ﷼10, ﷼50, ﷼100, ﷼500. Frequently used coins are: 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50.

Airport to Hotel
Hamad International Airport (DOH) is 19 km away from Grand Sheraton Hotel (15 minutes). The hotel does not provide a shuttle bus, however, alternative transportations methods are available:

Means of Transportation
- Taxis
They are one of the most convenient ways to get around Doha and the entire country of Qatar. There is generally only one company offering taxi services in Qatar. It is Karwa Taxis (+974-458-888), and is one of the Middle East’s most reliable and reputable transportation companies. - Trains and Buses
There are no railway lines available inside Qatar. Bus travel is the main form of transportation, alternative to taxis. - Uber
Uber is available in Doha and can be booked through the application itself.
Dress Code
Stating that Qatar is a Muslim country, it is best to wear modest and conservative clothing. This implies no shorts for men, and no mini-skirts or tank tops for women. Foreign visitors are expected to dress in a style that is sensitive to Islamic culture.
