  • Visit basic physiology principles including gas exchange and respiratory mechanics
  • Review the principles of mechanical ventilation
  • Analyze ventilator graphics for changing lung mechanics and for optimal patient ventilator synchrony.
  • Define ventilatory management of ARDS, obstructive disease, and severe hypoxemia.
  • Introduce novel modes of mechanical ventilation, monitoring tools and their utility in ICU
  • Discuss mechanical ventilation liberation strategies
  • Define the role on NIV and HFNC in critically ill patients
